Reeta Chakrabarti’s debut novel Finding Belle takes us from the beaches of Mombasa to the English suburbs and the teeming streets of Kolkata, with a powerful story of mothers and daughters, betrayal and madness. Reeta will be in conversation with documentary filmmaker Marion Milne.

About Finding Belle
Belle is beautiful, troubled and increasingly disconnected from the world. Far from home, friends and family, her life begins to crumble. As her daughter Mivvi grows up she must reconnect the pieces that her mother has scattered. Can she uncover the secrets clouding their past, and so rewrite her own story?

Reeta Chakrabarti is a BBC News presenter and correspondent with three decades of experience. She presents the One, Six and Ten O’clock News on BBC One, BBC weekend news and also reports at home and abroad.
