How will this affect the music programme, will classical, jazz, world and folk music still remain at the heart of the festival?

Yes, the first Bath Festival in 1948 began with classical music – jazz, world and folk music swiftly joined it and are part of the fabric of the festival. We will continue to programme high-calibre events in all of these musical genres.

How will this affect the Literature offerings, will there still be a place for talks on history, politics, economics, literary fiction etc…

Yes. We pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge of current affairs, science, technology, economics, history, literary fiction and poetry. We see this as an opportunity to expand our programming and to continue to bring the greatest minds to Bath.
