BATH INTRODUCES: OVER 100 AMAZING ACTS ALREADY APPLIED

Bath Introduces 2019 Is already a Roaring Success!

With two weeks to go until the closing of applications, and over 100+ applicants from all over the country, Bath Introduces is bigger than ever.

Applicants have spanned from all ages, genres, locations created a very exciting line-up.

The prize of a full day recording at Real World Studios, as well as playing the main stage at the Bath Festivals Finale Weekend, has spurred musicians into a frenzy – passionate to show us what they’ve got and rightfully earn their spot on our stage.

Three heats for the competition have been confirmed in some of Bath’s renowned venues: 20th May Komedia, 23rd May Pig and Fiddle, 25th May Moles.

As well as this, we’re proud to confirm we’ll be joined on the judge’s panel by Tim Oliver (Real World Studios), Justin Adams (Guitarist), Stuart Bruce (Recording Engineer), Cameron Jenkins (Stranger Records), Robert Short (Vocal Specialist and Tutor) plus more to be announced.

“I’m excited to see that Bath Festival are supporting local grassroots music with a Finale Weekend Battle of The Bands competition and we at Real World studios are proud to be a part of it.” – Tim Oliver, Senior Consulting Engineer at Real World Studios.

Last year’s winner, the lovely Isobel Holly said: “Bath Introduces 2018 was a fantastic competition to be involved in, I’d never played such a big festival stage before. I was also lucky enough to continue to win a day at the incredible Real World Studios- allowing me to record two new songs. The team of people there were so friendly, making the whole process so easy, and successful. Real World doesn’t feel real. The Big Room is like the control room of a spaceship, but with the whole building surrounded by water; one of the most inspirational places I’ve been.”

With two weeks to go until the competition closes, we’re urging any musicians thinking about entering, to do so and give it their all – this an exciting venture and great exposure for any act (big or small).

The event’s co-ordinator Olivia Noonan says: “I can’t believe the talent that I’ve seen so far, I’ve been blown away from the variety! I’ve seen fourteen-year-olds writing jazz pieces and fifty-two-year-olds dressed in top hats – to say it’s been entertaining would be an under-statement”.
