Bath Introduces 2019 Highlights

Bath Introduces has had an exciting year; having had 135 submissions, coming from Manchester to Brighton, we look back at the highlights from the 3 heats

During festival week, we hosted 3 heats featuring 4 bands on each night. Two were successful from each and have made it to the Finale Weekend main stage – which takes place this coming weekend.

MONDAY 20 KOMEDIA

Masa Diora, Giovanni L’Immigrato, Hush Mozey and Delight A Thief took Bath by storm.

Band #1 Masa Diora displayed breath-taking conceptual electronica, coming all the way from Manchester for this opportunity.

Band #2 Giovanni L’Immigrato dominated the stage, visually and energetically with their 8 piece band.

Band #3 Hush Mozey took us on a drunken sailing expedition with what they call “drowsy rock’n’roll”.

Band #4 While Delight A Thief closed the evening with ecstatic, pyschedelic, dreamy soundscapes.

Out of this heat, the two winners were:

Giovanni L’Immigrato

Delight A Thief

WEDNESDAY 23 MOLES

We had a last minute venue change for our 2nd heat, from the amazing Pig and Fiddle to the renowned Moles – due to construction work. We saw Jack the Rabbit, ILL WILL, The Shuks and Alexander Sun.

Band #1 Jack the Rabbit transformed the room into a surfy indie den with influences from The Night Cafe, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Blossoms.

Band #2 ILL WILL injected the energy – they brought punchy riffs, edgy looks and a captivating stage presence.

Band #3 The Shuks gave us a delicious platter of jangly guitars, vocals reminiscent of Suede and Bowie, and true rock’n’roll swagger.

Band #4 Finally, we were treated to the amazing Bristol based act, Alexander Sun. Their dreamy aura combined with a surfy Mac Demarco vibe, was the cherry on top to a fabulous evening of great local music.

The winners from this heat were:

ILL WILL

The Shuks

SATURDAY 25 MOLES

The 3rd and final heat featured Vrillon, Radio Laika, Dessie Magee and Attic’O’Matic. What a night it was.

Band #1 Vrillon brought a dark, 90’s nostalgic mood – haunting and grungy.

Band #2 Radio Laika appeared as 3 children innocently rocking out in an aesthetic palette of oranges and blues.

Band #3 Dessie Magee and his band of merry men, trekked all the way from Brighton to deliver us a wonderful taste of Irish, folky, rock goodness.

Band #4 Attic’O’Matic brought a youthful indie explosion to the depths of Moles.

The winners from this heat were:

Radio Laika

Dessie Magee
