Bath Children’s Literature Festival Schools Programme – sign up now

Teachers and librarians from schools based in Bath and Somerset were invited to hear about the authors and illustrators involved in this year’s Schools Programme for Bath Children’s Literature Festival which takes place from 28 September to 7 October.

Over 20 schools attended and enjoyed some delicious coffee and cake kindly supplied by Waterstones, and were the first ones to be taken through the array of incredible authors featuring in the programme by Head of Creative Learning, Hazel Plowman and Artistic Director, Gill McLay.

Our Schools Programme takes place on the weekdays during the festival and offers a wealth of fantastic authors and illustrators to inspire school children from across the region. In 2017, over 3,000 students attended 15 events at the Bath Children’s Literature Festival plus 7 outreach author visits, and this year we are building on that success with a fantastic programme that features Sir Chris Hoy, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Katie Thistleton, Philip Reeve & Sarah McIntyre, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Nikesh Shukla, Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock and many, many more.

Once again, Steve from Centurion Travel is supporting the Schools Programme by providing a number of free coaches for local schools! Spaces are limited so if you would like take advantage of this please contact Hazel Plowman on education@bathfestivals.org.uk for more information.
