JOIN THE BATH FESTIVALS TEAM IN SAYING THANK YOU AND GOODBYE TO THE MCLAYS AS THEY STEP DOWN FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTORS TO FOCUS ON THEIR OTHER INTERESTS

It’s an exciting time for John and Gill McLay who have, after 12 years, have stepped down as the Bath Children’s Literature Festivals Artistic Directors.  John and Gill are heading off to concentrate on their other ventures and we, of course, wish them every success for the future.  We have all enjoyed working with them immensely.

Bath Festivals took over from founders John and Gill McLay in 2010. John and Gill have continued to work alongside our in-house programming, production, marketing, PR and finance teams.  This has resulted in the Kids Literature Festival growing into the biggest dedicated children’s book festival in the country.  Bath Festivals is a charity and our hugely successful schools programme continues to grow and grow under the leadership of Hazel Plowman.

The Bath Children’s Literature Festival will remain as part of the Bath Festivals annual activity alongside the multi-arts The Bath Festival in May, The Bath Festival Finale Weekend and will continue to use the stunning buildings and venues of Bath, bringing some of the biggest names in literature, music and combined arts to our city.  We are busy making plans for 2020 and beyond – watch this this space for exciting news!  We will miss John and Gill and thank them for all their hard work, dedication to both our festival and our city.

Please do look out for our new programme – our best yet!
