The Bath Children’s Literature Festival has officially begun!

What an amazing start to the 2023 Bath Children’s Literature Festival!

On Friday Rob Biddulph kicked us off with his epic draw-a-long. Schools from Bath and beyond all got their pencils out and drew some incredible illustrations. Rob joined us again on Saturday for a public event and we did it all again! The Forum has been a buzz over the weekend with huge fans of Biddulph as well as Robin Stevens, who stayed to talk and take photos with fans! The Forum also hosted our weekend workshops including comic drawing and poetry writing. We definitely had fun!

We also had a very special visit by Supertato shaking hands and giving high fives to fans in the streets of Bath. We have a feeling Supertato will be popping into say hello again.

Up the road from the Guildhall at The Egg, the Happiness Hub was such a hive of activity with FREE events hosted by Jenna Herman and Lucy Reynolds. Children were able to colour, scribble and doodle, as well as build a giant butterfly and an origami city. If that wasn’t enough, we were also joined by a mermaid! The Egg theatre also hosted some incredible events for families including ADVENTUREMICE and A Damsel Not in Distress!

Our festival hub The Guildhall was alive with activity over the weekend with families coming to see names such as Greg Jenner, Joseph Coelho, Nikita Gill, Katie Kirby, Tom Holland, Derek Landy and Stephen and Anita Mangan.

We’re so excited for our school’s program to begin today as we welcome schools from Bath and beyond to The Guildhall for some fantastic events. There is still time to book tickets for our second weekend where we will welcome Dermot O’Leary, Sir Lenny Henry, Laura Wood, and Pamela Butchart.
