The Bath Festival 70th anniversary programme launch

Stop Press! Last night, The Bath Festival officially launched the programme for their 70th Anniversary year at Komedia, Bath. A whole host of guests from the local community joined the team in their celebrations. Eleanor Household, the Festivals Team Development Director spoke of how ‘wonderful it was to see the turn out for our celebrations; it’s always great to be reminded of how our corporate and local arts community are ready to support us!’ And support us they did, with guests from Bath Spa University, Bath Tourism Plus and the local council as well as Patrons, supporters of our schools outreach programme and many many more! John Cullum, Chair of the Festival Board was blown away, saying ‘Thank you for your support. Your attendance, support and participation to our events keeps us striving to improve, engage and entertain.’

Amongst the speeches from Ian Stockley, CEO and James Waters, Artistic Director was a fantastic run down of the programme by Judith Robinson, Head of Programming. On International Women’s Day, we were reminded of the immense talent and diversity of not only the world we are part of, but of that joining us in our small city in what is only a few weeks away!. Look forward to seeing the likes of Amanda Palmer, Maggie O’Farell, Allie Esiri, Jessica Fellows, David Olusoga, Peter Snow, Kate Mosse, Rob Andrew and others. In rounding off the night, we had a fantastic medley of songs from West Side Story, sung by Gemma Summerfield and John Porter. See them on Saturday 19 May, 7:30pm at the Forum.
