In 1987, armed with nothing more than a Filofax, a brick of a mobile phone and steely determination, 20-year-old Nicki Chapman was walking through Soho towards her first job in the music business.
Packed with behind-the-scenes stories, her memoir, So Tell Me What You Want charts her journey to becoming a judge on Pop Idol, going on tour with the Spice Girls, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Take That, Billie Piper and S Club 7, and smashing glass ceilings and confronting chauvinism along the way. Nicki will be in conversation with Guest Curator Joe Haddow.
Nicki Chapman is a TV presenter, radio broadcaster and inspirational speaker, who worked behind the scenes in the music industry before switching to being front of camera, first on Pop Stars and Pop Idol. She presents Escape To The Country and Wanted Down Under. She has appeared on music, gardening, entertainment and lifestyle shows and is a regular presenter on BBC Radio 2.
