About the Event
The darling of British Ballet talks about her career, her new book Evolved and, of course, Strictly Come Dancing. Published to coincide with the superstar ballerina’s 50th birthday, the book is filled with unseen photos, behind the scenes stories and personal anecdotes which she shares in this special event. Chaired by documentary maker and writer Marion Milne.
About the Author
In a career spanning more than 20 years, Darcey Bussell achieved legendary status in the dance world. Having trained at the famed Royal Ballet School in London, Darcey became the youngest British principal dancer at The Royal Ballet in 1989, where she remained her whole career. She was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2006, and danced her final ballet, MacMillan’s Song of the Earth, in June of 2007. She holds many patronages including being President of The Royal Academy of Dance and International patron of the Sydney Dance Company. She has honorary doctorates from Oxford University and the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow, presents The Royal Ballet’s live cinema broadcasts and she is currently a judge on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing amongst her many activities.
