With a little help from Sparky the puppet dog, Maudie Smith introduces her brand-new picture book, My Must-Have Mum. Find out how Maudie became a children’s writer, delve into the ‘Magic Book Bag’ and discover some most unusual story starters. Exploring the theme of change you’ll get into recycling big-time, and you can try your hand at the Upcycling Quiz! Maudie will show you round her story and prepare you to write a recycled story of your very own. Come with questions!

Maudie Smith writes humorous and touching stories for children aged 2 to 12 including the picture books Milly and the Mermaids and The Dressing-Up Dad. She has an MA in Writing for Young People and lives in a village near Bath.
