Join best-selling authors Kiran Millwood Hargrave (The Girl of Ink & Stars) and Lucy Strange (Sisters of the Lost Marsh) for a spellbinding and inspiring event on writing, mystery, and magic! Both authors will take you into the worlds of their best-selling stories, discussing how they infuse magic into their novels, and which stories inspired their writing. There will also be the opportunity to ask Kiran and Lucy a question.

Kiran Millwood Hargrave is an award-winning poet, playwright, and best-selling author. Since the publication of her debut novel The Girl of Ink & Stars in 2016, she has proven herself to be one of the most exciting voices in children’s fiction. Her books for children and young adults include the best-selling The Island at the End of Everything, The Way Past Winter and A Secret of Birds & Bone. Her works for children have variously won the overall Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2017, the British Book Award’s Children’s Book of the Year, and the Blackwell’s Children’s Book of the Year. Kiran lives by the river in Oxford with her husband and their cat.

Lucy Strange is an award-winning children’s author, known for her critically acclaimed books which capture elements of classic children’s literature in a style that is engaging and accessible for today’s younger readers. Often inspired by folklore and fairy tales, Lucy combines historical settings with touches of magical realism and fantasy to create utterly convincing worlds in which anything might happen. Lucy lives in the Kent countryside with her partner and their young son.
