Thank You For The Music #2

As the Bath Festivals team is working from home this spring, we’re keen to share with you (and each other) the tracks that inspire us during these uncertain times. Introducing #ThankYouForTheMusic, a regular feature that is our way of sharing the songs we love and also thanking the incredible musicians who gifted them to the world.

Kate Hall, Programme Director

1. Morcheeba. The Sea
I grew up by the sea and this song came out when I was travelling in Thailand. It is the perfect song to listen to when remembering happy holidays.

2. Wham! Freedom
For all you kitchen dancers, get the utensils out and sing along!

3. Pixies, Monkey Gone To Heaven
This was the band of my teenage years and it is just a brilliant song.

4. Sebastien Tellier, La Ritournelle
This piece of music makes me very reflective and I often listen to it when I run with Daisy (the dog).

5. Rudimental, Go Far
Probably one of my favourite concerts. Drinking Pimms out of plastic cups at Westonbirt.

6. Badly Drawn Boy, Once Around The Block
This comes from the amazing album The Hour of Bewilderbeast. I used to play this all the time and so did my husband before we met so I think it’s nice that we were listening to the same music.

7. Jungle, Happy Man
I listen to Jungle A LOT, especially in the kitchen when I’m cooking, they are probably my favourite band of the last few years.

8. Zero 7, Somersault
I got married in France and this was our first dance.

We’d love to know what tracks our audiences love! Post your #ThankYouForTheMusic recommendations on Instagram or Twitter and tag @TheBathFestival
