Picture of the day: Wednesday 22 May

We’re cheating on today’s picture of the day, as we couldn’t resist putting both of these shots up. Last night was the Opening Party of the Bath International Music Festival, and with his usual charismatic and warm style Alasdair Nicolson introduced his first festival for Bath.

The setting was the Festival Club, a new venue in the Octagon, Milsom place. Guests mingled, perused the array of past Bath International Music Festival posters, enjoyed canapes provided by Sam’s Kitchen, wine from Great Western Wine and envied the impeccable decor, by Eton Design. The hanging lights are an installation by Bruce Munro – 1000 bottles filled with filaments of light, it’s quite magnificent.

The Festival club is open daily (click here for details), you can also visit the Music Dynamics shop, we particularly like their rather lovely display of rouge bunting and ukuleles!
