Bath at Christmas opening weekend events
It may seem a bit early to be talking about Christmas, but we are so excited to share our latest news with you!
Rediscover the magic of Bath at Christmas
This Christmas, the city of Bath is uniting across tourism, hospitality, retail and culture to illuminate the city with a festive programme of events running from 27th November to 20th December. We are very pleased to be part of the team pulling the programme together alongside B&NES Council, Bath BID and Visit Bath. All activity is being planned following government guidelines on the coronavirus pandemic.
Some of Bath’s most iconic buildings will be brought to life with festive illuminations, and the spirit of Bath Christmas Market will be celebrated, with 12 chalets dotted around the city centre selling locally made gifts and treats, the same number that came together to form the very first Market in 2000. Open air stages in the city will have students, local musicians, storytellers and poets ushering in the festive spirit.
We will be kicking off the first weekend in partnership with The Holburne Museum, and The Forum. The talented Seth Lakeman will perform a live gig, children’s author David Baddiel will tell us all about his latest book, Grayson Perry will talk about his life and latest exhibition The Pre-Therapy Years and we will be introduced to the newly reformed Bath Festival Orchestra. The festive programme will continue with lantern animation and walkabouts from Bath Carnival and ArtSeen, a screening of The Snowman with live music from local orchestra Bath Philharmonia and many more events to be announced over the weeks to follow. Keep scrolling to find out more about our events which go on sale later this week!
Comedian and bestselling author David Baddiel’s wildly entertaining adventure stories for young readers have sold over a million copies in the UK and been translated across the globe. David will be in Bath to introduce his brand new blockbuster Future Friend for young readers. Age guideline: 8+ / family.
