An unexpected delivery from the stork… We’re delighted to announce the arrival of a last-minute addition to the festival. Bestselling author Helen Fielding will join us on Saturday 27 May, St Swithins, 7.30pm to discuss Bridget Jones’s Baby – the latest in her world-famous and much-loved forays into the life of Britain’s favourite singleton. And it’s safe to say that Bridget is on rollicking, boisterous form – as irreverent, as conflicted and as determined to muddle through as she ever was.

Twenty-one years after we first met Bridget, we find her heading towards middle age with her biological clock ticking and the usual suspects – upright Mark Darcy and caddish Daniel Cleaver – circling. What path will Bridget take? And with whom?

“Will be serene, calm and dignified. Will simply ask myself, at any awkward moment, ‘What would the Dalai Lama do?’ And then do it.”

“My memories of the rest of the occasion were somewhat confused owing to a limitless alcohol supply. I think there was line dancing.”
